Question by dalowhanger: I want to make hiphop beats. Please recommend some Home studio equipments.?
Hi, I am a high school student, and I’ve been interested in the whole Dj stuff, I’m only playing with my decks currently, but I would like to actually make beats with my computer.
i think it would be the best to have Protools, but I don’t really know what other equipment that is needed. I’ve got a computer G5, it would be very helpful if you guys help me out! Thank you.

DJing is an expensive hobby, throw in production equipment & DJing becomes a very expensive hobby.
Basic equipment for a computer based DJ home studio. (I don’t use a computer for DJing, so I don’t know much about the computer side of the equation.)
In addition to sequencer/editor software, you’ll probably want:
– Groove Box (Commonly called a drum machine.) MPC dominates the Groove Box market, probably every professional DJ has used a MPC at one time or another.
– Keyboard
– DJ mixer
– CD turntables or vinyl turntables or both.
Sounds like you already have the turntables & DJ mixer so I’ll skip those.
