I’ve never heard of the MPD one but I have a few mates who swear by the MPC. I believe they’re pretty much industry standard since the Emu Sp12’s phased out.
Check out this Brothers Stoney – Tappin Buttons if you can find it anywhere for a bunch of instrumentals done mainly via the MPC.
I just looked at them and it seems some are more portable on the go jobs and others are more solid like MPC 2500’s and 3000’s.
There’s a fair variation in price too.
