Akai MPC 3000

I don’t know what fastily2 is thinking ,but the Roland is a much better unit. Not only do I have one at home, but we use one at the radio station I used to work at.
It has really easy to learn and use hands-on features, and its ability to hook up a VGA monitor and mouse, make it a real practical unit.
Some of today’s best Hip-Hop and R&B producers use this unit because of it analog capabilities.
Its a quality unit – not as good looking as the MPC2500, but it works great!
Make a million and good luck!
It all depends on your preference. The MPC 3000 is considerably older(released in 1994), has a much warmer sound, an older style of workflow, only option to save large files is via external SCSI or internal SCSI with a slight modification, sample editing by ear with no waveform editing, text only screen/menus, and it’s a slightly difficult process transferring samples to and from a computer unless you find the 3.50 OS rom chips. It also has a VGA option, but it’s text only. The MV is a good choice is you want easier editing, a cleaner sound, a monitor and mouse setup to effortlessly edit like you would with software, and a quicker more modern workflow. If I had to choose one I would go for the MPC 3000 over the MV just because I like the sound, workflow, and older style of editing samples.
